Egypt Itinerary

You will be met at the airport by your driver/guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may want to take a tour of the city or visit one of its memorable sights.
Take a late morning tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities.
Break for lunch.
Enjoy your afternoon as you wish. We suggest relaxing at the Mena House Hotel and staying for the sound-and-light show at the Sphinx or visiting the Khan Khalili bazaar.
Take a morning drive to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt.
Visit nearby Step Pyramid in Saqqara (wonderful on horseback).
Return to Giza and visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx.
If you have time you may enjoy a visit to the Solar Boat Museum to see a full size ancient Egyptian boat and the Papyrus Gallery to see a demonstration of ancient art of papermaking.
In the morning, fly south along the Nile to the Abu Simbel.
At Abu Simbel, explore the magnificent Temple of Ramesses II and Nefertari's Temple of Hathor.
Take a short flight from Abu Simbel to Aswan.
In Aswan, you will board a Sun Boat, your home for the next seven days.
Weather permitting, we will sail a Nile Felucca around Elephantine and Kitchener's islands before returning for your first night on the Sun Boat.
After a morning visit to the Aswan High Dam, you will cruise to Agilika Island to see the Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. It is quite extraordinary to see by daylight, but you may also want to return at night to enjoy the Sound and Light show.
After lunch on board, you'll set out to visit the Nubian Museum.
This morning set sail to Kom Ombo, the site of the Greco-Roman Temple dedicated to both the sun god and the crocodile god.
Continue downstream to the Temple of Horus on Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus.
Sail onto Esna and dock for the night.
Visit the Temple of Khnum on Esna in the morning before cruising onto Luxor.
After lunch, visit the great Temple of Karnak.
On the west bank of the Nile, across from Luxor, you'll explore the Theban necropolis including the Temple of Hatshepsut, Medinet Habu, Valley of the Kings (including King Tut's tomb), and the Valley of the Queens (including Tomb of Nefertari).
Enjoy an afternoon on your own.
Enjoy and Evening Sound and Light performance at the Temple of Karnak.
This morning set sail to Dendera and tour Ptolemaic Temple of Hathor.
Enjoy lunch on boat.
Sail back to Luxor.
Visit the spectacular Temple of Luxor and the Luxor Museum.
Dinner on boat
Fly back to Cairo in the morning and check into your hotel.
The afternoon is set aside to explore Coptic Cairo. Highlights include the Coptic Museum, Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Hanging Church and the Church of St. George.
Spend the evening in Giza, enjoying the spectacular Sound and Light performance at the Sphinx and Pyramids.
Today is set aside to explore Islamic Cairo. Highlights include the Ibn Tulun Mosque, the Gayer-Anderson House, the Citadel of Salah el-din, Mohammad Ali Mosque and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar.
Fly to London or Amsterdam and transfer to homeward bound flight.
