Destination:
Cabo San Lucas
Activities
With miles of sandy beach, a scenic backdrop of mountains and desert, and clear ocean waters rich with marine life, Cabo offers plenty to do. Our Travel Advisor will be happy to help you with your plans, or if you’re staying at the Capella Pedegal, your Personal Assistant can arrange almost any type of activity.
Fishing
Los Cabos has some of the best sport fishing in the world, with a large variety of species (especially marlin) available year-round. Capella has private fishing boats, and many local companies offer charters.
Snorkeling
There are a number of excellent sites near Cabo, from Lover’s Beach right by the Arch, to Santa Maria Cove and Chileno Bay about 30 minutes from the marina, to Pulmo National Park just beyond San Jose del Cabo. Choose a catamaran snorkeling cruise, a guided kayak/snorkeling tour, or a private snorkeling/sailing combination.
Scuba Diving
Three currents converge at the tip of Baja, providing divers with an abundance of sea life – Cabo Pulmo is especially rich. If you aren’t certified, a number of local dive shops offer instruction.
Dolphin Encounters
Swim with dolphins as part of a group, or become a “Trainer for a Day” for a one-on-one encounter.
Sailing and Cruising
Capella Pedregal is the only resort in the area to offer a yacht club experience, and offers sailing cruises on their private yacht, as well as sightseeing, whale-watching and sunset boat cruises. If you aren't staying at the Capella, a variety of boat cruises and private charters, including glass-bottom boat and catamaran tours, are available in town.
Whale Watching
Between mid-December and April, the lagoons of Southern Baja become sanctuaries for migrating Gray, Blue and Humpback whales. Boat tours allow close views of these majestic animals – it’s often possible to see the mothers playing with their calves.
Swimming
The Sea of Cortez side of the cape has several excellent beaches. Medano, or “Dune Beach,” runs alongside Cabo San Lucas, and offers safe swimming as well as beach bars and cafes. Another famous swimming beach is Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach), located inside the cove next to the famous Arch – it’s reachable by water taxi and also offers great snorkeling. Lovely Playa Cemetario, northeast of Cabo, lets you escape the crowds. The beaches on the Pacific side of the cape are also beautiful and uncrowded, but swimming here is not recommended, as the currents and undertow are very powerful.
Surfing
Cabo is popular with surfers – the Pacific side has a number of good spots.
ATV Tours
A guided ATV tour through the desert is exciting and fun, but it does have its risks, so use caution (especially with kids) and be sure to follow all safety procedures carefully.
Horseback Riding
Riding is a great way to enjoy the area's natural beauty – tours are offered to the mountains, desert and beach.
Golf
The golf courses of Los Cabos are renowned for their oceanfront greens and panoramic views. Cabo del Sol has been ranked one of the top 100 in the world.
