Itinerary 3 - Southern Spain
Flamenco, bullfighting and sherry – famous icons of Spanish culture – all originated here, but despite the stereotypes, southern Spain offers a wide diversity of terrain and lifestyle, from sparkling white hill towns to vast sandy beaches. You’ll begin your journey in Barcelona, on the northeastern coast, where you’ll stroll the Gothic quarter, check out Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and visit the soccer stadium. Next, you’ll head south to the resort town of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol. Here, you’ll have time to relax at your seaside resort, and make day trips to Granada (home of the Alhambra), Ronda (the most charming of the famous pueblos blancos) and Jerez de la Frontera (known for sherry, flamenco and Andalusian horses). You’ll spend a day and night in lively, colorful Sevilla, then move on to Spain’s capital, Madrid, where you’ll take a bicycle tour through the city’s main sights, and enjoy a guided visit to the Museo del Prado. A day trip to historic Toledo will round out your itinerary, filled with the very best southern Spain has to offer.
Keep in mind this is just a starting point – our Spain partner can custom-design your itinerary according to your interests.
