Plan to spend a day with the kids here; they won't want to leave! The British Museum has one of world's greatest collection of antiquities. Start with the Egyptians, (the kids will love the mummies). Move onto the Greek and Roman antiquities. Break for lunch at the Great Court. Then go to the Library, where the kids can get a backpack full of games and take a peak at the Magna Carta and Shakespeare's first folio. There are often activities for the kids too. And tours. With so much to see and do, this is a museum you will come back to time and again.

This museum is not your typical art gallery. Here the subjects overshadow the artists. The faces in the portraits tell the history of Britain. You will see royals, great politicians, military leaders, thinkers, artists, writers, musicians, even pop icons. This was my daughter's favorite museum.
