This private tour is the ultimate introduction to Morocco. You’ll explore the old Imperial cities of Fes and Marrakech, famous for their vast souks, ornate architectural wonders, lavish hotels and exotic ambiance. You’ll discover the quaint villages and rugged landscapes of the Rif and Atlas mountains, and take an excursion out to the majestic Sahara desert, where you’ll enjoy a camel ride on the dunes and a night in a traditional Berber tent. You’ll tour ancient Roman ruins and beautifully preserved Kasbahs that transport you back in time.
If desired, you can wrap up your journey with a day trip to the popular seaside town of Essaouira. Throughout your journey, you’ll experience the very best of this fascinating country, at a pace that lets you truly immerse yourself in the culture.

Arrive at the airport in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city as well as its economic center. You will be met by your private driver and transferred by van to your Casablanca hotel, where you will check in and relax for the afternoon. If time permits, take an optional tour of the Hassan II mosque. Said to be the largest mosque in Africa and one of the three largest in in the world, it’s a masterpiece of craftsmanship and design. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will have a tour of this unique and enchanting town. It’s called the “Blue City” of Morocco because each of its doors is painted blue, contrasting with the white walls for a cool, serene effect. Enjoy the relaxed mountain atmosphere and interesting local crafts. Dinner will be served in the hotel.

After breakfast, you will set out for the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire. Enjoy lunch in Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial cities. After lunch, your guide will take you on a tour of Meknes; then, you will head off to Fes, the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Dinner will be served in the hotel.
After breakfast you will begin your guided tour of the ancient medina, one of the world’s largest walled cities. Exploring the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco is an unforgettable experience. You will also visit the Kings Palace, the tanneries, and the Fes blue pottery factories. For lunch you will eat in traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.

After an early breakfast, you will begin your ascent across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding through beautiful forests, jagged rock formations, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and start to descend towards the Sahara Desert. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. On arrival at the Kasbah in Erfoud, enjoy a welcome hot shower or dip in the swimming pool (depending on the weather). Dinner will be served at the Kasbah.
Most of the day will be spent relaxing at the hotel or exploring the small but interesting desert town of Erfoud. In the afternoon, you will go by 4-wheel drive vehicles to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will set off by camel for a 1/2-hour trek onto the dunes to watch the sunset. After a traditional dinner, you will spend the night under the desert sky in Deluxe Berber tents.
*The overnight could be optional if you would prefer to return to the hotel to sleep.
After breakfast, you will return by camel to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. From there, you’ll set out behind the High Atlas Mountains on route to the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, you will take a walk in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. You will stay the night in Dades before you cross the High Atlas Mountains. Dinner will be served at the Kasbah.
After an early breakfast you’ll set off towards Ouarzazate along the route of 1000 Kasbahs. If you would like, you can visit the ancient Kasbahs in the palmaries. A trip up into the Dades Gorges is worth your time as you experience this amazing natural wonder. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you can explore this southern city. Once a prominent garrison town, it is probably most famous now for the films that have been produced in the area. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will head off towards Marrakech. On the way you will visit one of the jewels of Morocco – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s best preserved Kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; films made here include Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and more recently, Gladiator.
After your visit to this famous Kasbah, you will complete the drive over the High Atlas Mountains. Once in Marrakech, you will check into your hotel and then head off to the Jemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina and one of the most famous attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with local storytellers, entertainers, and food stalls, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular view of the bustling square. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other treasures. After lunch, continue on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the souk (market). Dinner will be served in the hotel.
This could be a free day in Marrakech to explore and relax; OR you could choose to do a day excursion to Essaouira.
DAY EXCURSION: After breakfast, you will set off to the coastal city of Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town on the southwest coast of Morocco. Boasting an exquisite beach, Essaouira has become one of Morocco’s most popular coastal towns. Many of the countries wood carvers and artists make Essaouira their home. You will return to Marrakech in the evening. Dinner will be served in the hotel.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
