Highlighting the best of Argentina, this itinerary explores the cosmopolitan charms of Buenos Aires and the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia. It’s perfect for families, with lots of time in the great outdoors and just enough adventure to be exhilarating rather than daunting. From zip-lining through the rainforest to kayaking on a glacial lake, your activities are designed to be fun and rewarding for all ages and levels of ability.
You’ll begin in Buenos Aires, where you’ll tour the colorful barrios and enjoy a private, full-day polo lesson. Next, you’ll travel to the Lake District of Northern Patagonia, for three days of kayaking, hiking and horse riding surrounded by glorious mountain scenery. You’ll move on to El Calafate in Southern Patagonia, where you’ll stay at a private sheep-shearing estancia and be taken on an unforgettable mini-trek on the Perito Moreno Glacier. You’ll return to Buenos Aires for a gala New Year’s Eve celebration. Then, if you wish, you’ll cap off your journey with a trip to magnificent Iguazu Falls, where you’ll get up close to its astonishing cascades and enjoy eco-adventures in the sub-tropical rainforest. Throughout your travels, you’ll be accompanied by Loli Delger, your personal and highly knowledgeable guide.

You will land in Buenos Aires in the morning. Loli will be expecting you at the Airport and you'll be driven to your hotel, the Alvear Palace Hotel (40 minutes drive), located in La Recoleta on Avenida Alvear, an aristocrat neighborhood of excellence in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is known for its "100 barrios Portenos" (neighborhoods), its great cuisine, its contrasts in architecture, its cultural richness, its many cafes, the nostalgic Tango and its proud people.
After settling in your hotel room, you will get to know the city's most exciting barrios (districts) from the hand of a terrific guide, from your own location in Recoleta to historical Plaza de Mayo, to picturesque La Boca and San Telmo, to modern Puerto Madero, among other barrios. These will give you an integral view of the city. You will finish around 5 pm
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, just wandering and shopping at Avenida Alvear's top-end stores, or just relax at your exceptional hotel before you head back out for dinner
Every night while in Buenos Aires you will have reservations for dinner in some of Loli's top selected restaurants, where you'll be able to choose according to what you feel like that day, whether you feel like tasting local delicacies, Asian, Italian, Spanish, whatever you wish.
Today you'll be driven 40 minutes north of the city, towards Pilar, for a full-day Polo lesson. You'll learn from the hand of a pro at a beautiful private property. The pro will teach you progressively the basics of this thrilling sport, and after a tasty "asado", you'll all play the polo "practica" (match)
You'll come back to the city and you'll be able to enjoy another fantastic dinner, at your choice of one of Loli's selected restaurants.
With the favorable dollar exchange rate, plus the country's recovery after the 2001-2002 economic crisis, which has given birth to a creative boom, Buenos Aires has become the perfect destination for shopping. Today, Loli will take you shopping. She'll create a shopping itinerary tailor-made for your interests, combined with fantastic local craftsman's and designers' private ateliers and shops.
Other Buenos Aires Activities
- Sailing: Sail the muddy waters of the wide Rio de la Plata (River Plate) and the Labyrinth channels of the Delta River on board a private yacht or sailing boat, and discover how life is in the Delta.
- Balloon Flights: At dawn or dusk fly over the vast flat of the Pampas in the surroundings of the city Estancia day, get to know the ranching and gaucho culture, spending one or two days at a private estancia in the Pampas (Gaucho culture varies depending on location, weather, etc).
- Soccer Game: Watch a soccer game at a local stadium, and feel the fans' passion for this nationally beloved sport.

Your starting point in Patagonia will be the capital of the Lake District, Bariloche.
9am. You'll be driven to the local airport 10 minutes away from the Alvear Palace Hotel.
9.30am. Leave on board your private jet, fly out and reach Bariloche 1 hour 40 minutes later.
11.30am You'll be driven to the Llao Llao Hotel located on top of a hill between the Nahuel Huapi Lake and the Moreno Lake in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. This premier hotel is in an unbeatable location with some of the most breathtaking vistas in the whole country. Staying at this hotel is an experience in itself.
Lunch is at your choice of one of the Llao Llao Hotel's restaurants.
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, you can relax and take a siesta at your room's deck overlooking the lake. The hotel also has an exclusive spa and health club, an indoors and outdoors heated swimming pool, an entertainment area for playing table tennis, pool, and bingo, among other games, a fantastic golf course, and nearby locations for mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, canoeing (Canadian), fly fishing, practice archery, and other activities available exclusively for hotel guests.
In the evening we'll head to a small gourmet restaurant called Cassis, located by the Gutierrez Lake. You'll be driven from the hotel to the restaurant and back.
Daily Activity returning to Llao Llao Hotel.
Today you'll do a combination of outdoors activity. After breakfast at the hotel, your private guide will pick you up at the hotel. You'll go sea-kayaking on the majestic Nahuel Huapi glacial lake, starting right off the shore of the marvelous Llao Llao property.
You'll have a private yacht as a support the whole time you'll be kayaking. After kayaking you'll jump onboard and continue sailing into one of the lake's arms, and enjoy a gourmet picnic onboard. Later you sail back to the Llao Llao.
In the evening you'll head to "El Refugio" for dinner, located on the Otto Mailing Refuge on one of Bariloche's emblematic peaks, to have dinner enjoying one of the most spectacular vistas of Bariloche. You'll be driven from the hotel to the restaurant and back.
Daily activity returning to Llao Llao Hotel.
Today you'll do a combined activity, which involves light hiking and horse riding to the peak of Mount Tronador, a spectacular mountain scene with dramatic Glaciers. Along the hike you'll listen at this moving front glacier roaring while pushing itself down the mountain.
Your private guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to a starting point at Mount Tronador. You'll enjoy a fresh mountain picnic home made out of regional ingredients, and once at the bottom, you'll be driven back to the hotel to enjoy a relaxing time in the hot tub or to just take a swim at the swimming pool.
Dinner will happen at an intimate and cozy restaurant in town called Naan, where you'll taste the specials of the owner chef who will be hosting you. You'll be driven from the hotel to the restaurant and back.
You'll be driven back to the Balmaceda international Airport and flown to Calafate International Airport. You'll then be driven to Alta Vista Lodge located in the legendary Estancia Anita, one of Calafate's pioneer sheep-sheering Estancias and the biggest in this area.
At this very private lodge (7 rooms total), you'll get the most personalized service from the hand of Tamara and Federico, your hosts. You'll also taste chef Carla's exquisite gourmet specialties, and enjoy yourselves guided by one of the hosts on fantastic horse rides on the ranch's huge private property. Here you'll encounter the vastness of Patagonia, with huge extensions of land, and the panoramic views of the gigantic Argentino Lake and its Brazo Rico, one of the lake's arm. You'll come across thousands of sheep, guanacos, armadillos, various species of birds, including possible and very close encounters with condors and hares, among other wildlife. You will also get to a few different high viewpoints, from where you'll be able to admire the whole valley and see the famous Perito Moreno Glacier.
You'll have a tasty lunch when you arrive from Helsingfors, enjoy it after settling in. Then you will be guided through Estancia Anita's main headquarters, including the sheering shed. They will walk you through the process of sheering, and tell you great stories about crazy European pioneers settling in this lands and reaching this isolated lands in the most rudimentary ways at the turn of last century.
Later you can relax and have an early dinner, to get enough rest for the next day.
After your early rise and breakfast, your private guide will pick you up and you'll head to the Los Glaciares National Park for an unforgettable experience, a private Mini Trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier.
This adventure begins at the pier by the "bajo de las Sombras" bay located only 4 miles away from where this majestic glacier stands with pride. You'll board a boat and cross over to the opposite shore of the Rico arm of Argentino Lake. For 20 minutes, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the glacier's massive walls and icebergs. Once on the opposite shore, your mini trekking private guide will meet you and check on your gear and other details. From there you'll be guided through a "lengas" forest to the lake's shore by the edge of the glacier. You'll be given a basic introduction to glaciology and safety, and the phenomenon of the advancing characteristic of glaciers. You will then move to the limit between land and ice, where you will be provided with ice crampons to then start an incredible adventure on this gigantic mass of ice.
After the mini trekking is finished, you will cross over onboard the boat again, back to the pier, where your private National Park guide will be awaiting to drive you to the Perito Moreno's catwalks and balconies. From there you'll get the most impressive views of this glacier.
Once you see it all, you'll be driven back to the lodge for a deserved rest and dinner.
After a late wake up and breakfast at your own pace, your horses will be ready for an amazing ride in the ranch's extensive property. You'll ride towards different viewpoints within the Estancia, from where you'll have panoramic views of the steppe and the Lake Argentino. You'll have your picnic up on the range while experiencing Patagonia's wilderness. Ride back to the house, and rest until having another great dinner.
After breakfast you will be driven to Calafate International Airport, an hour away from the Ranch, to board your private jet for a 2 hour 30 minute flight back to the busy city. Once you've landed at the Buenos Aries local Airport, you'll be driven to the Alvear Palace Hotel. You'll settle in and head out for a late lunch. After this, and especially after having travel throughout the country and understanding the culture and life style much more, you'll be ready to go shopping for some local souvenirs. Afterwards you'll go back to your hotel and rest and get ready to boogie at a fun party
At night you'll go to the most exciting party in town at the Faena Hotel. This usually lasts until early in the morning! Your car will be waiting to bring you back to your own hotel room at any time.
After such an intense trip, and getting to know Argentina in many different ways, you can choose what to do on your last day here. There's always that thing you didn't buy and now you're dying for, or even a cool spot in the city where you tried to get to the first days. Or you can go see Eduardo Constantini's private contemporary art collection at the great Malba Museum, the biggest in the country, and then visit the Braga Menedez Art Gallery, the coolest in town and its deep art connoisseur owner Florencia Braga Menendez Whatever you choose!
You'll be driven to the Ezeiza International Airport in the evening to board your flight back home.
Iguazu is another destination you could go to by replacing one of the destinations on your itinerary or extending your stay:
Iguazu is one of the world's most extraordinary wonders, the Iguazu Falls. Made up of over 275 individual cascades, the Iguazú Falls are 60 feet higher than Niagara and 3 times wider. You will experience the Falls both from the ground, from the air, and from a zodiac that will take you incredibly close to the powerful cascades. You will enjoy adventures in the sub-tropical rainforest that surrounds the Falls. Your accommodation will be a luxurious hotel, ideally located in the National Park overlooking the Falls. There will be plenty of time to enjoy gourmet food , and relax in the swimming pool of your hotel after your daily adventures.
Day 1
Mid-day: Arrival in Iguazú on your private plane and transfer to your hotel
Afternoon: Private excursion to the Brazilian side of the Falls
With your personal guide, you will walk on the Brazilian catwalks and have expansive views of the Falls. You will then enjoy a helicopter ride over this amazing natural wonder
Evening: Enjoy a delicious meal at your hotel or at a restaurant of your choice in Puerto Iguazú
Day 2 Morning: Eco-adventures in the sub-tropical rainforest around Iguazú
With your personal guide, enjoy a morning of private eco-adventures with options including trekking, rappelling and the Tyrolean Traverse
Afternoon: Private excursion to the Argentinean side of the Falls
Accompanied by your personal guide, you will walk along the Argentinean catwalks (Superior and Inferior circuits) and experience close-up views of the Iguazú Falls. You will then board a high-speed zodiac to ride along the Falls and experience "up-close" the powerful cascades
Evening: Spa treatrments and relaxation in the swimming pool at your hotel. Gourmet meal at your hotel or at a Restaurant at Foz de Iguazu Town
Day 3
Morning: Train ride to the catwalks leading to the awe-inspiring "Garganta del Diablo"
Mid-day: Private transfer to the airport for your private flight back to Buenos Aires
