This 11-day itinerary offers the very best of central Italy: the Renaissance wonders of Florence and Siena, the famous food and wine of Tuscany, the spectacular Amalfi coast, and the rich history and grand architecture of Rome.

You will be met by your private driver and transferred to your hotel in Siena.

Grand Hotel Continental: This majestic hotel in the 17th-century Palazzo Gori, just steps away from the Piazza del Campo, was recently restored. Each of its rooms is uniquely decorated with period details.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will be driven through the Tuscan hills to Florence, the jewel of Renaissance Italy. There, your local expert guide will introduce you to the highlights, history and hidden corners of the city, including the Piazza della Signoria, the Piazza del Duomo (where you can view the Cathedral’s famous bell tower and bronze doors), the Ponte Vecchio, the church of Santa Croce, and artisan workshops.
After the tour, you will have four hours on your own to explore the city before returning to Siena.

After breakfast, you’ll set out on a full-day tour with your English-speaking guide/driver, who can arrange wine-tasting visits in Montepulciano, Pecorino cheese tasting in Pienza, or a number of other options. This is your day to enjoy the best of the Tuscan countryside.

Today is a very special introduction to the finest Tuscan Wines with one of the most important families in the heart of Tuscany. You’ll begin with a private visit to one of the Antinori’s vineyards followed by a tour of their Historical Cellars of Badia a Passignano and a tasting of their wines. After an introduction to the local olive oils, you’ll enjoy lunch with a special menu prepared to accompany the wines of the region.

After breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel and be transferred to the train station in Florence, where you’ll take the ES Freccia Rossa to Naples (First Class tickets and seat reservations included). Upon arrival in Naples, you will meet your English-speaking guide/driver and travel to the amazing archaeological site of Pompeii. On your private tour of the site, your local expert guide will make the ancient city come alive before your eyes.
Following your 2.5-hour tour, your driver will take you to Sorrento.

3 overnights at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, Sorrento, where you have a Double Deluxe Room.
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria: Dating from 1834, this hotel is decorated in splendid fin-de-siècle style, with its many famed terraces offering breathtaking views over the Bay of Naples.
Today you will explore the beautiful Amalfi Coast. From Sorrento, your expert local driver will take you on the “Amalfi Drive,” one of the world’s most spectacular scenic routes. You’ll follow the coastline to Positano, a hillside town almost dreamlike in its beauty. You’ll have time to shop, visit the 13th-century Santa Maria Assunta, and soak up the atmosphere before returning to Sorrento. (Tour duration: 6 hours)
Today is yours completely at leisure to enjoy Sorrento.
After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and be transferred to the Naples train station, where you will board the ES Freccia Rossa to Rome. (First Class tickets and seat reservations included). Upon arrival, you will meet your English-speaking guide/driver and be transferred to your hotel in Rome.

Hotel D’Inghilterra: Located in the heart of Rome, a stone’s throw from the famous Spanish Steps, this palazzo has been one of the most exclusive hotels in Rome for the past 150 years. The guestrooms have a décor remembering its palatial traditions, with lavish silk and damask fabrics, baroque mirrors and 19th century antiques.

After breakfast this morning, you’ll explore the beautiful Campo Marzio Area on foot with your local expert guide. You’ll experience all the sights of this special area, including Trevi Fountain, Via del Corso, and the Pantheon. You’ll end at Navona Square, where you can stop for lunch at one of the many open air bars/restaurants and pizzerias. (Tour duration: 3 hours)

In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a special introduction to the Vatican City and its amazing history, highlights and hidden gems with our local expert guide. You’ll see the Vatican Museums, famous Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of St. Peter, learning along the way about the buildings’ history and the Vatican’s relationship with Italy.
Farewell dinner reservation at Vecchia Roma.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the Rome airport for your flight home.
