Best of Berlin
Dear Members,
Berlin is one of Europe’s hottest travel destinations right now—and after my short trip there this past July, I understand why. The museums are world-class, the architecture is stunning, the history is fascinating, and there’s a confidence and dynamism to the city that makes it a very exciting place to be. If you want to see what all the buzz is about, our partner Exeter International is offering a special “Simply Berlin” itinerary that makes it easy to discover the best of Berlin at your own pace.

This private guided tour is a perfect introduction to the city. You’ll visit the newly reopened Neues Museum on Museum Island (where you’ll see the famous bust of Nefertiti), stroll down the elegant Unter den Linden boulevard, and see the historic Pariser Platz and Brandenburg Gate, as your guide tells you about the background of each area and makes the city’s history come alive. You’ll have lunch at the rooftop restaurant of the Reichstag (one of my favorite experiences when we were there). And you’ll have a whole day at leisure to visit the opulent Sanssouci Palace, tour Berlin’s other excellent museums, or explore the charming streets and chic shops of the Mitte district. Your accommodations will be the stylish and very centrally located Hotel de Rome (we stayed at this Rocco Forte property and thought it was exceptional).
A 3-night trip like this is ideal if you have limited time, and can easily be combined with another itinerary. You’ll get a real taste of Berlin and, because you’ll have your own private guide, you’ll be able to make the most of your visit. Berlin is simply amazing—I encourage you to check it out!
