5 Days in Buenos Aires
Dear Members,
My family went to Argentina for Christmas a few years back, and it remains one of our all-time favorite trips. Buenos Aires was so much fun—it’s very cosmopolitan, with its European-style architecture and vibrant neighborhoods (barrios) filled with interesting shops, museums, and street art. We tried our hands at polo (Morgan, our young equestrienne, particularly loved this), toured the barrios and the famous La Recoleta cemetery, and could not get enough of the incredible food. But one of the best parts of the experience was our guide and travel partner, Loli Delger, who planned our itinerary down to the last detail and was with us throughout the trip. Her knowledge of the city and country, her connections, her flexibility and her warm hospitality really made our journey special.
September-December is the ideal season for visiting Buenos Aires, when the weather is warm and mild, and the jacaranda trees come into bloom. This is also polo season, a major event in Buenos Aires and well worth experiencing. Right now, Loli is offering a special
5-day Buenos Aires itinerary
through her travel company, The Hummingbird Trip. If you don’t have a lot of vacation time, this tour is perfect—you can add on a travel day at each end and still only be away a week. And it’s packed with activities that let you experience the best of Buenos Aires. Take a private tango lesson, see a world-class polo tournament, take a guided tour of the barrios, chant with the locals at a soccer match, and learn how to cook Argentina-style. Loli will gladly tailor your journey according to your interests, and will accompany you on the tour upon request. If you want to expand your trip and see more of Argentina or South America, she’ll be happy to do that too.
Thanks to the favorable exchange rate, this is an affordable itinerary that still allows you to have beautiful, boutique accommodations and eat at the best restaurants. For more information, visit
